Bakhodir Akhmedov: We’re proud to be bronze medallists

Uzbekistan claimed bronze medals in the AFC Futsal Championship the defeating Iraq 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out after the exciting play-off ended 4-4 at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium on Sunday.

Uzbekistan head coach Bakhodir Akhmedov shared his comments on this match for 3rd place winner and the 11-day-long tournament takes place in Chinese Taipei.

“I want to thank the Iraqi team, they played really well and made it difficult for us. It was a really nice game. I am very satisfied with my team’s performance, and we’re proud to be bronze medallists.

“After this tournament, we’re going to rest first, and have a training camp where we will scout for younger players for our next AFC Futsal Championship.”
