Bekzod Abdurakhmonov claims the first gold medal for Uzbekistan in the Asian Games 2018

Abdurakhmonov contested with Kazakhstan’s Daniyar Kaisanov for a gold medal. In the first period, Kaisanov took the lead with only one point, but Bekzod Abdurakhmonov managed to finish the final with a victory (3-2).

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov became the third wrestler from Uzbekistan to win multiple gold medals at the Asian Games, after Artur Taimazov and Dilshod Mansurov who won three gold each. Abdurakhmonov won the men's 70kg event in 2014.
