
Ravshan Khaydarov: Our main goal to achieve a great result in the U-23 AFC Championship
Uzbekistan under-23s national football team participated in the M-150 Cup 2017 International Football Tournament in Buriram, Thailand on December 9-15.
The White Wolves faced Myanmar and Vietnam in the group stage as they earned four points before they struggled with Japan in the final match.
Zabikhillo Urinboev scored two goals, but score was 2-2 after two 45-minute periods, while it was turn for penalty shoot-out. Uzbekistan’s keeper blocked the ball before the crossbar stopped another attempt from Japanese side when Uzbekistan gained the championship.
Head coach Ravshan Khaydarov also shared his impressions after they arrived in Tashkent.
"This tournament was a part of the preparation plan for U-23 AFC Championship, which will be held in China in January next year. During the competition, we studied the capabilities of our players and used various tactical schemes.
Our main goal is to achieve a good result in the upcoming the competition in China. Most of our young guys have great potential. We will try our best to improve their level and prepare good candidates for the senior team."
