Uzbekistan’s referee Bakhtiyor Namazov was presented with the AFC Referees Special Award in the AFC Futsal Referees and AFC Futsal Instructors Seminars in the Malaysian capital on Wednesday.
Bakhtiyor Namozov took part in the World Beach Soccer Championship, which was held from April 27 to May 7 last year in the Bahamas and he officiated in the final match between Brazil and Tahiti.
It should be noted that the Asian referees had not previously appointed as a referee for the final matches of the World Beach Soccer Championship. But Bakhtiyor Namazov became the first arbiter, who made a debut among Asian referees. This was also said by AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa.
"Our main goal is to continue ensuring the participation of players and officials in international football competitions. Bakhtiyor Namazov, having surrendered the final match of the World Beach Soccer Championship, strengthened the influence of Asian referees in the world, "said Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa.
Bakhtiyor Namazov since 2009 is the referee of FIFA. He also worked at the Beach Soccer Championship in Asia in 2015 and officiated in the final match between Oman and Japan.
