The seventeenth matchday of the Uzbekistan Oliy Liga was held on August 11-12 as the defending champions FC Lokomotiv celebrated their first victory in the second phase of the league and Shota Arveladze's army shocked FC Neftchi with a 6-0 victory at the Pakhtakor Stadium
FC Sogdiyona 0-4 FC Lokomotiv
FC Lokomotiv strengthened their bid for the Uzbekistan Oliy Liga title as they gained a 4-0 victory over FC Sogdiyona in the seventeenth matchday of the league on Saturday evening.
Opener Murod Bobojonov gave an earlier lead for the Railwaymen just nine minutes after the kick-off before Marat Bikmaev doubled the scoring in the 19th minute of the game. Murod Bobojonov scored his second personal goal in early minutes of the second period. Marat Bikmaev added his second from a 12-yard penalty spot to secure a 4-0 victory for FC Lokomotiv.
FC Navbahor 3-2 FC Kizilkum
FC Navbahor hosted FC Kizilkum in the seventeenth matchday of Uzbekistan Oliy Liga at the Central Stadium on Saturday evening.
Ilhom Muminjonov’s side recovered a draw in the final 25 minutes to earn a 3-2 victory over FC Kizilkum. The Falcons had had earlier taken the lead through Ruzimboy Ahmedov’s header just 12 minutes after the kick-off, but Darko Stanojevic leveled the scoring with his own goal five minutes later.
However, Dilshod Jabborov returned the lead for the hosts in the 32nd minutes of the game as his side earned a penalty kick after Erkin Boydullaev’s handball in the box and FC Navbahor went to the dressing room with a 2-1 lead at the interval.
FC Kizilkum equalized the score as the referee Vadim Agishev pointed to the spot the second time, but against the hosts while Mirzohid Gofured stopped the hosts with a foul in the area. Ilhom Yunusov finished the penalty kick perfectly, back of the net, 2-2.
But, it was the final score at the Central Stadium in Namangan before a dramatic finale saw Aziz Turgunboev scored a goal to win the game for the hosts.
FC Bunyodkor 1-0 FC Almalyk
C Bunyodkor have broken FC Almalyk’s 12-match undefeated run as they have earned a 1-0 victory in the seventeenth matchday of the Uzbekistan Oliy Liga yesterday evening.
The hosts started the game by showing a good performance as they took the lead through Otabek Shukurov and his effort ensured that the FC Almalyk's run in the competition came to an end.
Mirjalol Kasimov’s guys had opportunities to increase their lead at the Bunyodkor Stadion, but they wasted the best chance of the match and the score remained unchanged.
FC Bukhara 1-0 FC Nasaf
FC Bukhara claimed their first victory in the second phase of Uzbekistan Oliy Liga as they faced FC Nasaf in the seventeenth matchday on Saturday evening.
Debutant Javohir Kahramonov made a significant contribution by scoring the only goal of the game as he broke the deadlock after a 73-minute goalless period at the Bukhara Sports Complex.
Ulugbek Bakayev’s side earned three points to keep their fifth place on the league table followed by FC Bunyodkor.
FC Metallurg 0-1 FC Mash’al
C Mash’al bagged three points in their Oliy Liga match against FC Metallurg at the Metallurg Stadium on yesterday evening.
Bobur Kosimov’s early opener gave a 1-0 victory for the visitors to come back home with three points ahead of another league match against FC Shurtan on Saturday.Goal: Bobur Kosimov (18)
FC Pakhtakor 6-0 FC Neftchi
C Pakhtakor made a fabulous performance for the home crowd by shocking FC Neftchi who conceded six consequent goals in the final 45 minutes at the Pakhtakor Stadium on Saturday night.
Shota Arveladze’s side started the 'Uzbek Clasico' as they were immediately on the front foot from the first whistle and made the much brighter game phase, but, they failed to open the scoring in the first period.
However, the hosts broke the deadlock through Azim Ahmedov before Igor Sergeev added a couple more in just 5 minutes. Brazilian Tiago Bezerra made his first goals for FC Pakhtakor before Vladimir Kozak registered his second goal in this season.
FC Kokand-1912 1-0 FC Obod
C Kokand-1912 have moved to the second place of the Uzbekistan Oliy Liga after they earned a 1-0 victory over FC Obod at the Kokand Central Stadium.
The hosts took an early lead through Javohir Siddikov's opener in the 25-minute of the first period.
Numon Hasanov's men had more chances to double their lead, but they couldn't succeed while the score remained unchanged.
