Sanjar Fayziev earns Tatarstan Winter Cup 2019 title ahead of Davis Cup match against Serbia

Fayziev booked a place in the final after he defeated 3-6 7-6 6-7 Russian Evgenii Tiurnev at the Kazan Tennis Academy on Saturday.

The 24–year-old struggled with another Russian player Teymuraz Gabashvili for Tatarstan Winter Cup title on Sunday.

In two straight sets, Uzbekistan international managed to beat his opponent with a score of 6-3 7-5 and earned the Tatarstan Winter Cup 2019 title.  

After this tournament, Fayziev will back to Tashkent for Uzbekistan’s Davis Cup game against Serbia as Central Asian side will compete in the elite group of the biggest men's team competition for the first time, hosting Serbia in Tashkent on an indoor hard surface.
