Tashkent Open 2017. Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova are top seeds in the doubles
Timea Babos of Hungary and Andrea Hlavackova of the Czech Republic will be the top seeds in the doubles event at the 19th edition of Tashkent Open WTA Championships being played at the Republican Olympic Reserve School of Tennis in Tashkent
They will be followed by Nao Hibino of Japan and Oksana Kalashnikova of Georgia, Kateryna Bondarenko of the Ukraine and Aleksandsra Krunic of Serbia.
Winner of the doubles crown in the previous edition Ipek Soylu of Turkey has been ranked fourth and will partner Russian Kromacheva, Soylu had won the doubles title last year partnering Raluca Olaru of Romania.
The event organizers threw a surprise awarding a wildcard to their ex-star and Fed Cup captain Iroda Tulyaganova who will be playing a WTA event after 11 years, interestingly Iroda has decided to pair with Krystina Pliskova of the Czech Republic, The other wildcard was awarded to Uzbek juniors Olesya Kim and Sevil Yuldasheva.
The winners of the doubles get $12300 and 280 WTA Points while the finalist will receive $6400 and 180 WTA points.
