Otabek Shukurov: We didn't play Football!

The Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan meeting, which took 1st place in the qualifying round of the World Cup, took place yesterday. In it, our compatriots won with a score of 3:1.

At the end of the first half, Turkmenistan national team player number 4 Meilis Durdiev opened the scoring by accurately punching into the near corner of our goal.

In the second half, our representatives launched a series of attacks. In the 57th minute after the transfer of the captain of our national team Eldor Shomurodov, Atabek Shukurov restored the balance in the game, and in the 77th minute Shukurov scored a double. Shamurodov also assisted this goal. After Shukurov's super pass at the end of the match, Shamurodov also hit the opponent's goal - 1:3.

After the competition, the head coach of the national team Srechko Katanets and Otabek Shukurov took part in a press conference. Below you can read the thoughts of our midfielder:

- We are glad to win. We showed character. As our coach said, in the 1st round of the last two qualifiers for the World Cup, we were hit by a ball on an artificial pitch. The fact that we won at the end, still losing today in the first half, is due to the character. Thanks to this factor, we got 3 points.

- Speaking as a player, you can't play football on such a field. It is also dangerous for the player's health. Any organization should take care of the players' health. However, whatever the conditions, the honor of the Motherland stood here. Nevertheless, on the natural field, everyone played football with pleasure. However, we didn't play football today.
