Transfer News. Thai club Thunder Castle interested in signing Uzbek midfielder Akbar Ismatullaev
Former Thai League 1 champions Buriram United are interested in signing Uzbekistan midfielder Akbar Ismatullaev, reports Bangkok Post.
Apart from Ismatullaev, Buriram are also looking forward to adding other players to their line-up as the top flight braces itself for a restart, pending an approval from the Thai government.
The 29-year-old Ismatullaev came into the limelight during his association with former Uzbekistan Super League champions Pakhtakor Tashkent from 2009-2017, winning two league titles with the club.
He moved to another Uzbekistan Super League side, Metallurg Bekabad, in 2018 and has also made five appearances for his national team in the recent past.
