Uzbekistan's gymnasts secure the second place in the Voronin Cup 2017
The 24th International Artistic Gymnastics Tournament Mikhail Voronin Cup was held in the Moscow Olympic sports complex. The tournament was organized by the Dynamo Moscow Gymnastics Club named after Mikhail Voronin and the Moscow Dynamo Sports Club with the support of Russia's Sports Ministry, the Russian Federation of Sport Gymnastics and the Capital Department of Sport and Tourism.
The tournament was attended by participants from 26 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Gymnasts from the US, Japan, Israel, Germany, France and Switzerland also took part in the competition.
Uzbekistan athletes secured the second place in the competition medal table by countries. Anastasia Miroshnichenko gathered 50.375 points and claimed bronze medal as her compatriot Dildora Aripova gained the fourth place with 50.05 points in the junior all-around final.
Forty-two-year-old gymnastics legend Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan achieved the best result in the senior vault final and was awarded gold medal. Dildor Aripova earned silver medals in junior floor final, while Uzbekistan’s Utkirbek Juraev claimed silver in the junior pommel horse final.
