Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships get underway in Urgench

Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships get underway at the Yoshlik Sports Complex in Urgench.

248 athletes from different Asian countries are struggling for earning places at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. More than 200 masters, officials and foreign guests from 37 countries are viewing the tournament in in eight weight categories.

On the first day of the competition, Uzbekistan’s Nigora Abdullaeva claimed gold medal at the 44 weight category.
