Uzbekistan's fencers claim first-ever silver medal in World Championships

Athletes already started to compete in one age category – juniors up to 20 years old. It is the second time that the capital of Uzbekistan has hosted these championships which feature athletes from countries from all over the world.

Uzbekistan team claimed the first-ever silver medal in history as they defeated Moldovia and Germany before they lost the final match to Russia.

In all more than 50 athletes from over 14 countries are taking part in the individual and team competitions in sabre.
