A new leader was elected to the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan

An extraordinary report-election conference of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan was held today at the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. The main issue on the agenda was the election of a new chairman of the federation.

Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adham Ikramov, General Secretary of NOC Oybek Kasimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Sherzod Tashmatov, Chairman of the Council of Sports Veterans Bahadir Makshitov, officials of the Federation and its regional representatives, sports veterans took part in the event.

First of all, the application of Ruslanbek Davletov, who worked as the chairman of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan due to his transfer to another job, was considered and approved by the delegates. After that, the meeting moved to the main agenda. In it, the candidate of the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Makhkamov Ilhom Rustamovich was invited to the position of the chairman of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan and was unanimously approved by the participants of the conference. In this way, Ilhom Makhkamov was elected as the chairman of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan.

For information, Ilhom Makhkamov was born in 1979 in Tashkent. For many years, he worked in the utility sector, in particular, the general director of the "Uzkommunkhizmat" agency, the head of the information and analysis department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the utility sector, transport, capital construction and construction industry issues. Since 2021, he has been working as the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
