Rustam Assakalov became head coach of Uzbekistan national Greco-Roman wrestling team

Rustam Assakalov, who deservedly defended the honor of our country in the international arena, has been appointed head coach of Uzbekistan's national Greco-Roman wrestling team. The specialist is entrusted with an important task - to prepare the national wrestlers for the Asian Summer Games in Aichi-Nagoya-2026 and the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles-2028.

Recall that after the end of the Summer Olympics Paris-2024, the 40-year-old specialist announced the end of his professional career. During his sports career Assakalov defended the honor of Uzbekistan at three Olympics. The athlete has 1 silver and 1 bronze medal at the World Championships, as well as 3 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes at the continental championships.
