“Tata Steel Chess-2025": Abdusattorov and Yokubboev settled at 3 places in their respective groups

Today the matches of the 3rd round of the Tata Steel Chess-2025 chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands) will be played.

In this round, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, playing in the Masters group among 14 leading chess players, will play with black pieces against Max Warmerdam of the hosts, who is ranked 10th with 1 point. 

In yesterday's match within the 2nd round Abdusattorov defeated Indian chess player Leon Luke Mendonca with white pieces and brought the number of points to 1.5.

After the 2nd round, Fabiano Karuna of the USA is leading in the standings, the 2nd and 3rd places are occupied by Dommaraju Gukesh and Rameshbabu Praggnanandha of India, with Vincent Kaymer in the 5th place. 

Nodirbek Yokubboyev, playing in the Challenger group, played white against Kazebek Nogerbek of Kazakhstan in the 2nd round. The match ended in a draw. 

After this round Nodirbek is in the 3rd place with 1.5 points due to additional indicators.

Yokubbov will play a match against group leader Taya Daya Van Nguyen of Czech Republic in the 3rd round today. “Tata Steel Chess-2025”, consisting of 13 rounds, will continue till February 2.
